Templates is your go-to tool for crafting messages quickly and keeping your outreach consistent. Whether it’s for emails or LinkedIn messages, templates allow you to save time while ensuring your communication feels personalized.

Below is a step-by-step guide on how to create and preview templates in Amplemarket.

Creating a New Template

To create a new template, follow these simple steps:

  1. Starting a New Template:

    • At the top right of the Templates Page, you will see buttons for creating a new template: Email or LinkedIn.
    • Click on either button based on the type of message you’re planning to create. The type you select will determine where this template can be used—email stages or LinkedIn message stages within sequences.
  2. Template Types:

    • Email Templates are for email stages in sequences.
    • LinkedIn Templates are used for LinkedIn message or connection request stages.

Managing Your Template: Content and Settings Tabs

When creating a template in Amplemarket, you will work with two key tabs in the Template Drawer: Content and Settings.

Each serves a specific purpose to help you effectively create and manage your messaging templates.

Content Tab

The Content Tab is where you add the core components of your message:

  1. Subject (Optional):

    • This field is not always necessary. For example, you can leave it empty if the message is for a LinkedIn connection that doesn’t require a subject, or if it’s an email stage that will be used to reply a previous subject line.
  2. Message Body:

    • Draft your email or LinkedIn message here. You can include dynamic fields such as {{first_name}} to personalize your messages.
    • Dynamic fields help you ensure each recipient feels like the message is tailored specifically for them.

Settings Tab

The Settings Tab is where you manage permissions for the template, defining who can view and edit it:

  1. Private (Default):

    • By default, all templates are set to Private. This means only you and organization admins can see and use the template.
  2. Shared:

    • View Only: The template can be viewed and used by everyone in your organization, but they will not be able to make changes to it.
    • View and Edit: The template can be viewed, used, and edited by everyone in your organization. This is helpful for team collaboration where multiple users need to adjust the content as necessary.

Editing Templates

Editing existing templates is simple and allows you to keep your messaging up to date.

How to Edit a Template

  • Accessing the Edit Option:

    • You can edit a template by either:
      • Clicking directly on the row of the template you want to edit.
      • Clicking on the three-dot actions menu next to the template and selecting "Edit".

  • Linked Templates Banner

If the template you're editing is linked to any sequence stages, you will see a blue banner at the top of the Content Tab. This banner is there to make you aware of the impact of any changes you make:

    • The banner will indicate how many sequence stages are linked to this template. For example, it might say, "This template is linked to 4 sequences."
    • Any edits made to a linked template are immediately reflected across all linked sequence stages. This is particularly important if those sequences are currently live.
    • Be cautious when editing linked templates, as any modifications will directly impact every linked stage.
