Slack Signals: Reconnecting Slack Workspaces

Overview

Slack Signals on Duo rely on the Slack cookie stored in your browser to access the workspaces. There are two common scenarios where we might lose access to that cookie, making Duo unable to collect new signals until you reconnect:

  1. Routine security expiry: Slack cookies automatically expire every 30 days for security reasons. This unfortunately means you'll need to reconnect every 30 days — at least until we find a better workaround.
  2. Logging out of Amplemarket + logging in or out of a Slack workspace: If you're logged out of Amplemarket and then log in or out of a Slack workspace, the cookie we were using gets replaced, and, because you're not logged in to Amplemarket anymore, we can't grab the new one.

How to Reconnect

  1. Verify you are logged in to Amplemarket
  2. Make sure that you are logged in to all of the Slack workspaces you're tracking
  3. Refresh your Signals page to confirm that the warning sign disappears and you're done ✅

If the warning signs haven't yet disappeared, it might mean that some of the workspaces are still disconnected. In that case, place your mouse hover the warning sign and it will show you the workspaces you must log in to.
