Company's filters: Alexa Rank

You can search for companies or leads according to their Alexa Ranking using the ‘Alexa Rank’ filter at the bottom of the Amplemarket searcher. 

An Alexa Rank calculates the ‘popularity’ of a website by way of the site's traffic and engagement over a three month period*. A website is given a number that indicates their rank: the lower the number, the more popular a website. For context, Google has an Alexa ranking of one. 

To use the Alexa Rank search filter in Amplemarket, follow these simple steps:

1. On the sidebar, click the spyglass tool and open the Searcher.

2. Decide if you want to filter by company, or by people. If you rank by company, you’ll get a much smaller pool of results (i.e. if we want to see who is ranked ‘1’ by company, the only result will be Google. If we rank ‘1’ by people, everyone who works at Google will show up.)

3. Scroll down to the bottom of the searcher to the Alexa Rank. 

4. Enter the minimum and maximum ranking range you’d like to search. Again, for context, the lower the number, the more popular the site! If we search for a minimum of 1, and a maximum of 5, our results will yield Google, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook.

5. Include other desired info into your filters, and watch it update in real time!

A few tips for narrowing down your search using the Alexa Rank (after all--we’re looking for quality over quantity):

1. Combine the Alexa Rank filter with other filters in order to get a more focused group of people.

2. Keep the range relatively small, especially if sifting through people instead of companies.

3. Pair it with the Industry tool in the searcher to help find top performing websites in a particular industry.

4. Work backwards if there’s a specific company you think you want to target! You can find out the basic Alexa Rank for a company by simply putting their website URL into the Alexa site. Then put their rank into either the min or max range.
