Creating a Sequence with Tasks allows for you to organize your multi-channel outreach, all in one place. Imagine an experience for a prospect where you mix in emails, LinkedIn actions, outbound calls, and generic tasks (ie sending a hand-written note).
Now you can do all of that directly within Amplemarket. We streamline all of your outbound actions and touch points into one place. The following steps will walk you through how to create a template for these kinds of experiences:
Step 1: Start a New Template
The best way to get started on a new template is to click through the "Sequence Template" icon on the sidebar and the "New Sequence" button on the top right of the screen.
Here, you can start a new sequence from scratch.
Step 2: Setup the Basics
To kick off a new sequence template, you'll want to get the basics down. The first steps are pretty straightforward, like naming the sequence template. Ideally, you'll name this something unique to the sequence itself, so that it's easy to refer back to once you've built more.
You can also choose whether or not you want to share the template with the rest of the team, or if you'd prefer to keep it private.
The "Send emails between" timeframe are the default times that we will initiate tasks for this sequence. For example, if you start a sequence from the inbox or LinkedIn extension, we'll default to this timeframe. These times can be overridden when scheduling a sequence to go out within the Amplemarket app.
You'll also notice a few additional settings within the "Advanced Settings" dropdown. All of these settings are outlined below.
Advanced Settings:
- Do not send follow-ups on weekends: If a task is set to execute on Saturday or Sunday, we'll pause the sequence and resume the following Monday.
- Disable tagging and smart actions: We will keep email replies from being tagged based on their intent (ie. Interested, Out of Office, etc). This will therefore keep the smart actions from triggering.
- Sync with CRM: We will not send any contacts or activities through to your integrated CRM.
- When a task is missing data (ie. A call task is missing a phone number or an email or LinkedIn message calls for a dynamic field that is missing)
- Keep task: We will keep the task and convert it to a manual task for review before moving onto the next step. We will ask you to execute or skip.
- Skip task: We will automatically move onto the next step in the sequence without notifying you or needing approval of execution.
- When an Autopilot task fails to execute (ie. A LinkedIn message couldn't be sent because this lead is not already a connection or you've reached a limit for the week)
- Convert to manual task: We will keep the task and convert it to a manual task for review before moving onto the next step. We will ask you to execute or skip.
- Skip task: We will automatically move onto the next step in the sequence without notifying you or needing approval of execution.
Step 3: Add Your Stages
As soon as you've setup the basics, you can move onto the individual stages. If you click on the "+" as seen below, several different stage options will pop up. Choose which you'd like to start with, and let's dive in!
Note: In order to make use of the 'call' tasks, you'll need to make sure that you have the "Dialer" contracted into your plan and that it's setup appropriately in your account.
Types of Tasks
Automatic vs Manual
Something you'll notice as you start adding stages is that there's an option to make a stage Automatic or not.
Automatic tasks are stages in a sequence that you schedule in advance, and Amplemarket executes without need for additional approval. If you choose that you want to make a stage Manual, we will always ask for you to approve the step before executing. Manual tasks add for a much more controlled level of personalization to your messaging than dynamic fields or liquid syntax alone. You can leave notes for yourself or reminders about different topics to touch on. Make your changes, approve them, and send away. Once executed, we'll move onto the next stage.
When you see a little "M" on an icon, that means it's manual:
All Tasks:
Email tasks can be setup as either automated or manual stages. Create your template, include dynamic fields or use liquid syntax, and choose whether or not you'd like to review and add additional information before the email is sent. If you like the extent of the personalization that can be done with the automated step, we'll send this message on your behalf, when it's scheduled to go out.
LinkedIn - Profile Visit
Amplemarket will automate a LinkedIn profile visit from your LinkedIn account so that you show up in a lead's profile views.
LinkedIn - Follow
Amplemarket will follow a lead or contact on your behalf on LinkedIn. If you make this a manual task, you can leave notes for yourself for when you decide to execute.
LinkedIn - Like Last Post
Amplemarket will locate and "like" the latest post on a lead's LinkedIn profile.
LinkedIn - Connection
A connection request will be sent to a LinkedIn user on behalf of the sales rep. This message can make use of dynamic fields and can either be automated, or set to be manually executed.
LinkedIn - Message
A LinkedIn message will be sent to a LinkedIn user on behalf of the sales rep. If the rep has a premium LinkedIn account, InMail credits can be used. If the rep does not have a Premium account or if the InMail feature is disabled, we will only send a message if a connection request has been accepted.
LinkedIn - Voice Message
Voice messages can now be sent to leads via Amplemarket, without the need to actively navigate to the lead's LinkedIn profile. These voice messages will be created as manual tasks that can be executed at the time scheduled within the sequence. These tasks are always manual.
Call
Call tasks can be added to a sequence if you have the Dialer feature enabled. We will send a reminder to execute the call task on the day that it's set to be completed. You will be able to initiate the call directly from the extension.
Generic Task
A generic task is simply a reminder that you make for yourself to take an action that is not possible within a sequence itself. An example of this would be a reminder to write a hand-written note. These tasks will appear in your list of tasks that need to be executed manually.
Actions
Amplemarket gives you the flexibility to add or change the order of stages, directly within the flow. You can move stages up or down, delete stages, etc.. You'll find these options by clicking into the "Actions" dropdown in each stage.
Once you're happy with your template, you can schedule it to run by starting a sequence and then managing all of your manual tasks!
