Custom lead routing by domain or CRM field

Last updated: October 6, 2026

By default, Amplemarket decides which CRM account each new contact belongs to. If your team already routes contacts in the CRM, by domain, territory or a custom field, you can turn this off and let your CRM decide.

How routing works by default

Amplemarket routes each new contact to an account based on the company it belongs to in our database, and creates a new account when none matches. Companies that share a domain but have their own LinkedIn page, such as a parent and its subsidiary, count as separate companies.

For the full logic, see Lead Routing in the CRM Sync guide.

When to use custom routing

  • Your CRM keeps one account per domain, and the default creates separate accounts for related companies

  • Your CRM's duplicate or validation rules block the accounts Amplemarket creates

  • You assign accounts by territory or a custom field

Set it up

  1. In Amplemarket, open your Salesforce or HubSpot integration settings and go to the Push Records tab.

  2. Under Rules when creating a contact, uncheck Associate contacts with an existing account or create a new one in case it doesn't exist.

  3. In your CRM, build an automation (a Salesforce Flow or a HubSpot workflow) that runs when a contact is created without an account, and assigns it using your own rule.

When your automation assigns the account, Amplemarket syncs the change and shows the contact under the same account.

Note: Your automation now decides the account for every contact Amplemarket creates, and those contacts have no account until it runs.
