Duo Copilot Agents: How to adjust Duo's AI sequences
Last updated: October 20, 2026
What you can customize
There are 5 things you can customize so Duo's AI sequences match your preferences:
- Your company value propositions: how Duo should pitch your products and services in general, and which social proof and testimonials to use.
- Your tone of voice: how you want your outreach to sound in general.
- Your sequence instructions: if needed, a specific sequence structure for Duo to follow, or a template for a specific step.
- Each agent's prompt: how Duo should approach the leads a specific agent finds. Only account admins can change it.
- Your competitor battlecards: how you want to position your products and services against each competitor. Only account admins can change them, and Duo only uses them for competitor-related agents.
The first 3 are general messaging settings. They apply to every sequence Duo generates, whatever the agent. Edit them in Settings → Duo Control Center → Messaging Settings.
The last 2 are set per agent or per competitor. Edit them in Settings → Duo Control Center → Duo Copilot.
Learn more about each one below.
Company value propositions
In Settings → Duo Control Center → Messaging Settings → Company value propositions, there's a text field where you tell Duo how to introduce your products and services.
You can break these value propositions down by persona or territory. Duo knows enough about each prospect to pick the right one. You can do the same with case studies and testimonials: add them here, explain when to use each, and Duo includes them as social proof in its sequences.
Here's an example:

Tone of voice
In Settings → Duo Control Center → Messaging Settings → Tone of voice, a second text field helps Duo understand how your outreach should sound. Add your preferred tone, the sales methods or frameworks you like to follow, and anything about yourself that makes Duo sound more like you.
Sequence instructions
In Settings → Duo Control Center → Messaging Settings → Sequence instructions, a third text field lets you be specific about how Duo structures its sequences. You can define:
- the steps and stages Duo should use
- when each step should happen
- how Duo should write each step, from high-level guidance to exact templates
- links you want Duo to include
- things you want Duo to mention, and how and when
For example:
Here's the sequence structure you should follow:
Day 1: Start with a profile visit and a like on the lead's last post
Day 2: Send a connection request and a first email
Day 5: A Voice Message on LinkedIn (write the message script for me)
Day 8: A follow-up email doubling down on how we can help and including relevant social proof
Day 10: A follow-up text message on LinkedIn using this template:
"Hey {{first name}}, sent you an email and a voice note about {{reasons why we reached out}}. Would this be worth exploring?"
Day 14: A final profile visit
Day 15: One final breakup email where we include a link to our sales deck: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1bPGQysWeRTErK7FsPvMAsArKRyMRTt83ll2VTuuByF0/edit#slide=id.g1f0bef7b88e_0_2
You can be even more specific, and ask for exact copy or collateral in certain steps. In this example, Duo always follows a subject line format and includes a link to our sales deck:
Subject line should always be: {{first_name}} > Meghan
In the first email make sure to include a link to Amplemarket's Sales Deck: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1bPGQysWeRTErK7FsPvMAsArKRyMRTt83ll2VTuuByF0/edit#slide=id.g1f0bef7b88e_0_2
Agent prompts
Each agent has its own prompt that tells Duo how to approach the leads it finds:
- Go to Settings → Duo Control Center → Duo Copilot → Agents and open an agent.
- Go to the Output step.
- Write your instructions in How this agent writes to the leads it finds.
- Click Save changes.
Every lead from this agent follows this prompt, on top of your Messaging Settings. Think of it as the play you want to run for this agent. You can even change the structure of the sequences for this agent's leads.
Competitor battlecards
In Settings → Duo Control Center → Duo Copilot → Competitors, open one of your competitors. Use the text field to tell Duo how you compare against that competitor. Duo only uses this context for competitor-related agents, for example when someone engages with a post from one of your competitors.
Frequently asked questions
Can I include links and images in Duo Copilot sequences?
Yes. You can include links, images and other resources in your sequence instructions. Duo adds them when it generates your AI sequences.
Tell Duo in your prompt when and where to include them. For example:
Create sequences that are multichannel and make sure to include an AI-generated voice message on LinkedIn.
In the second email, include a link to this 3-Minute Sneak Peek of Amplemarket — https://share.vidyard.com/watch/CDjksQHumnvfCiW56MUsbJ?vyetoken=$token_placeholder&autoplay=1 — and below it add this image
as a thumbnail.
When you include HTML links or image tags like these, Duo adds them to the sequence copy.
This is especially useful for one-pagers, product screenshots or marketing assets.
💡 Tip: you can also include links to sales decks, case studies or demo videos in your instructions. Duo works out where and how to use them.
